REIGATE

EXTENSIVE REMODEL
SURREY

Private Client

The clients brief was to maximise the potential of the site and existing house, whilst maintaining as much of the original house as possible.

The proposal involved opening up the rear of the house to maximise views across the garden, relocating the garage from one side of the house to the other to allow a large kitchen family room to be created in an area that had views over the front and rear gardens, and finally adding a new floor to provide 4 new bedrooms.

The new first floor structure is constructed from timber frame, which is light weight for the existing structure to carry and provides a high level of thermal insulation and is quick to construct.

The front elevation is clad in cedar, which is maintenance free and will change colour with age.
